Time for a trim

I put it off as long as I could, but his hair really was getting in his eyes. Merry Christmas Cal! You got a hair cut. :)

Let him eat cake!

We tried. It was a very tasty carrot cake. Cal is a big fan of carrots and cream cheese so how could we go wrong? Let's just say playing with cake proved far more fun than eating cake. Plus, it guaranteed a bath later and baths are always fun.

Here's the lovely cake. Notice how it matches the dinosaur.

Cal wasn't so into the cake straight away.

But it got more interesting.

Happy Birthday Cal!

It's been one year, and what a year it's been. Here's a little slideshow of Cal from the last year. A few favorites that you may have seen and a few that were too great to pass over. One for every month, up through today!

Early Birthday presents

Grammie & Grampa rock! :) Thanks for my new toys. I'm not sure what the little book says yet, but Daddy says I can do all the things in it (wave, clap and play peek-a-boo)!

Random Shots

All set for outdoor adventures. Although I'm not totally sold on the hat, I can be talked into it in exchange for a walk to the park.

I am an excellent eater these days.

All set for the trip to Trader Joe's

What's that you say? There's a history of bag carrying babies in the family? Is it genetic?!

Torture is such a strong word

Sometimes the baby drives us nuts, so sometimes we drive the baby (a little) nuts.

Just to reassure you, he can get them off himself.

Although, now you know we did this more than once. What can we say, we're bad parents.

There's some neat stuff back here... Oh, hi Dad!

Cal eats a pita

Ok, this one is a long one. For the die-hard fans only. Also, we have now hit our weekly allotment for free video uploads on vimeo so there will be no more video for a few days at least.

Some of Cal's first steps

Crawling is still faster! Technically I took my first unaided steps on Monday, but this was the first time anybody could catch me on camera. And yes Marie, in case you're wondering it happened shortly after mom got home from taking you to the airport. Sorry.

Some new pics

This is me in my super cute bear suit. I liked it, but didn't want to be all zipped up. It's that freedom and independence thing again.

This is me with my friend Kirill. He's all grown up and gets Gold Fish to eat. Man, cheerios seem so yesterday now. He has cool hair.

Cal here...

Ok, so it's really me this time. I figured out Mom's password (she's not that original you know). First, I want to take this chance to thank you all for checking out the pics and videos Mom and Dad post of me.

Also, I wanted to let you all know that since I can now feed myself, get around on my own, and clean up after myself, I'll be moving out. I'm looking for suggestions. I've heard Mom talk about Brighton, Dad about Somerville, my uncle Aaron said something about this place called West Roxbury being kinda cool, but I don't know. My Nana's is nice and so is my Grammie's but I'm an independent sorta fella now so I don't think I can just be moving in either of those places. A guy needs his space, you know.

So, where would you all suggest? I'm open to pretty much anywhere. I think I'm a pretty adventurous guy. The only caveat, it has to be within say an hour's crawl from Mom. A guy gets thirsty you know.

Cal & Dad looking cool

Don't ya love how cute Dad is? He tries to dress just like me. :)

Now I get clean...

Uh oh, somebody's got the camera out...

Oh the heck with it. I'm a cutie and maybe Mom'll help me keep my privacy a little bit. :)

Helping Mama Clean!

Who knew I could be such a help. Dust bunnies run in fear at the sight of me!

Ok, here's a few shots of me. Two are me wearing my little baby hat. As you can see, I've grown a bit!
The other is just me being cute as a button. :)

A few shots for Cal's fans

Holy flash Batman! Mom and Dad were trying to get a shot of my new tooth (Yes, folks, that's right. I'm sporting the bottom front left one.) and nailed me with the flash.

Yes, it's Dad's sock, but it is a CLEAN sock!
Happy Cal!

1/2 Cartoon Monkey

Could Zach's comment on a previous post come from the fact that I once drew his family tree and populated it with squirrels? As for the accusation that Cal is half cartoon monkey, this is clearly true. Do monkeys drool? Maybe that's from mommy.
